In the latest polling from USA Today/Gallup, 54% of Americans now say that Barack Obama’s policies are either liberal or very liberal. That number is up from 43% in November of 2008. USA Today/Gallup and Rasmussen polling is painting a picture of an America that is waking up to the realization that Obama's policies are not the Change for which they had Hoped. President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and all the other left-wing wannabe socialists in D.C. have told us time and again that Health Care, and the socialization thereof, is the number one issue in America. Problem is you don’t agree. Not even close. In November of 2008, 64% of you said, “It’s the economy stupid.” A mere 5% of you went to the polls in 2008 to cast your vote for “Hope and Change” in regards to Health Care. Today, despite all the infomercials and Mr. Obama’s Network Tour-de-farce on national television (for which he’s probably been nominated for an Emmy) only 17% of you believe Health Care is the top issue. 41% of Americans say, “It’s the economy stupid”, and 18% of you say it’s Afghanistan. Afghanistan didn’t register in the polls back in November of 2008. Iraq, and the war there, was seen as the top issue by 11% of you. Remember Iraq. Remember the war there? Remember Obama’s promise of Hope and Change in Iraq. 66% of you ran to the polls in November of 2008 believing it all lock stock and barrel. Today, 56% of you still think Obama will bring the troops home safely from Iraq, and do it in a “way that is not harmful to the U.S.”. When do you people learn? It was actually candidate Obama who told us that Iraq was an unnecessary war, that it was Afghanistan which truly mattered. Back on election day, 58% of you thought a "President Obama" would bring our troops home from Afghanistan in a “way that is not harmful to the U.S.”. You do remember Afghanistan, right Mr. President? It's that little war you told us was far more important than was that big war in Iraq when you wanted our vote? In fact, Obama promised to step it up in Afghanistan and to bring Osama Bin Laden to justice immediately. That was back in July of 2008. Let’s not forget the doings over in Congress. Democrats control everything. That’s what you decided would best benefit our children's futures back in 2008 because you were mad at mean old George W. Bush. How do you think YOUR Congress is faring today? According to a daily tracking poll from Rasmussen, 15% of you think that Congress is doing “a great or excellent job”. Seriously, 15%! Where do the pollsters even find these lunatics? 53% rate Congress as doing a “poor” job. To say that Congress is doing a poor job is like saying the Titanic hit an ice cube. Rasmussen also takes a look at the numbers for Obama by party. Shockingly Dems approve, Republicans don’t. Here’s the really important number; among Independents or those that claim no party affiliation, 43% approve of Obama, and 57% disapprove of Obama’s performance as president. Rasmussen also looked at Health Care specifically. Remember, that the issue that Obama, et al, keep telling you is the most important single issue in the history of the Universe. Scott Rasmussen writes in the Wall Street Journal: “There’s also the reality that 74% of voters rate the quality of care they now receive as good or excellent. And 50% fear that if Congress passes health-care reform, it will lead to a decline in the quality of that care.” Why The Fuss! After all, the U.S. Government has done such a great job with distributing the H1N1 Vaccine, and the Post Office is awesome if you like long lines and surly attitudes, let’s not forget the outstanding work of the V.A. The White House communications director, Anita Dunn, said FOX News is a “wing of the Republican Party…let’s not pretend they’re a news network.” To draw attention to its biased coverage, President Obama will not be scheduled to appear on FOX for the rest of this year.
This is the same person who in a recent speech to graduates said that said she “praises” Mao Zedong, one of the most prominent Communist theoreticians and mass murderer to this day.
In another grassroots effort to rally her position, the organizers of MoveOn.org sent out a blast email letter to its members with a link to electronically sign a petition in support of Obama’s decision to stay off Fox News as long as he does.
The petition says:
Democrats should support President Obama’s effort to call out FOX. Please stay off FOX for as long as he does.”
Democrats often appear on FOX in hopes of reaching out to conservative viewers. But FOX cuts off their mic, distorts what they say, or runs biased headlines at the bottom of the screen. In the end, Democrats always lose on FOX.
FOX insists there’s a difference between its news shows and its right-wing opinion shows with Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, and others.
But in August, FOX’s so-called news shows “aired 22 clips of town hall meeting attendees opposed” to Obama’s health care plans and zero in support. CNN and MSNBC were more fair and balanced.
In another “news” story, FOX passed off a GOP press release as its own research—typo and all.
FOX executives now describe the channel as “the voice of opposition” to Obama’s agenda. FOX president Roger Ailes—a former adviser to Nixon, Reagan, and George H.W. Bush—said, “I see this as the Alamo.”
But a Capitol Hill newspaper reports, “In the House and Senate, Democrats who pledged to follow the administration’s near-boycott of Fox were hard to find, although many expressed support for Obama’s stance.”
Democrats will only find the courage to join Obama if they hear from enough concerned voters.

A political activist who was behind the famous Willie Horton advertisement that left Gov. Michael Dukakis' candidacy for president floundering and was among the first to sound the alarm on the need for Bill Clinton's impeachment says the United States is collapsing around its citizens right now, but there is a defense.
"Make no mistake. We're now in the middle of a bloodless coup – the takeover of an entire nation by the hate-America crowd – a cold-blooded gang that despises America's prosperity, our standing in the world, our trust in God and our generosity and goodness," says political activist Floyd Brown in a post on the new Impeach Obama Campaign website.
His suggested defense is nothing more or less than a strike at the emperor.
"Like so many on the far-left before him, going all the way back to Karl Marx, he [Obama] believes that it's his mission to promote 'equality of outcome' over 'equality of opportunity' even if Americans must learn to live in chains to make it happen," Brown said. "That worldview makes Barack Hussein Obama a very dangerous man and one of the greatest threats to your personal liberty today."
Brown said that view also explains why Obama "has already gobbled-up major banks and why the government now controls more and more of our money – yours and mine. And if you wake up one day to discover you're broke, don't be surprised. Barack Hussein Obama is Bernie Madoff with the political power of the presidency at his disposal."
"That dangerous worldview explains why his attorney general, Eric Holder, despises the 2nd Amendment… And that dangerous worldview explains why Obama intends to take away your freedom to choose your own doctor …. Your own treatment," he said.
Brown said the only one solution to the problem he described as a "monomaniac."
"Article I, Section 4 of the Constitution reads: 'The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.'"
Brown told WND that first and foremost, "people need to believe that it's possible."
He recalls the campaign to impeach Bill Clinton was begun back in the 1990s when Congress was controlled by the Democrat Party and there was virtually no obvious support for the concept.
"But we were patient and we kept at it, and he was impeached," he said.
"We believe he [Obama] is not qualified to be president, he should have never been allowed to be president, and [impeachment] is the best process for resolving this situation," he said.
Brown said most people remember him for being behind the Horton ad, which highlighted the subsequent crimes of a felon released from prison under Dukakis' watch. He also was among the first to sound the alarm on the Clinton Whitewater scandal as well as the mysterious circumstances of the apparent suicide of White House Counsel Vince Foster.
In a WorldNetDaily column, Floyd and Mary Beth Brown write that the idea already is mushrooming among conservatives, such as those in the discussions on the Expose Obama website where Floyd Brown is a moderator.
"Radio-personality, Tammy Bruce may have captured these activists beliefs about Obama best: '... ultimately, it comes down to... the fact that he seems to have, it seems to me, some malevolence toward this country, which is unabated,'" she said, according to the Browns.
They argue Obama already is guilty of the "high crimes and misdemeanors" for which the U.S. Constitution provides impeachment as a penalty.
"Our Founding Fathers fully intended to allow for the removal of the president for actions which include: gross incompetence, negligence, and distasteful behavior," they wrote.
According to the Impeach Obama Campaign, Obama already has:
Lied to the American people when he said people could keep private insurance, knowing full well that his legislation would inevitably drive private insurers out of business.
Vindictively fired Inspector General Gerald Walpin, who investigated Kevin Johnson, a buddy of the president, for misuse of funds from an AmeriCorps grant.
Supervised the effective takeover by government of banks, the largest insurance company (AIG), and General Motors (GM) and Chrysler... the bulk of the U.S. auto industry, thus depriving bondholders, shareholders, and others of their property.
Pursued cap-and-trade legislation. It would in a manner of speaking tax the very air people exhale and give the government unprecedented control over the economy and American businesses.
Added a trillion dollars to the national debt in just a handful of weeks.
Appointed "Czars" to oversee everything from the closing of Guantanamo to the nation's food.
And finally, Obama has consistently refused to approve the release of his actual birth certificate, college transcripts and his medical records.
Since impeachment proceedings are handled by no one but Congress, Brown writes that it is important now for people to realize the impact of their votes in 2010, because that will determine the makeup of Congress, and very probably whether any impeachment against Obama could proceed.
Brown cited a key opinion from former President Gerald Ford, who while serving in the House of Representatives, said an impeachable offense was, "whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history."
"Impeachment, as written in the Constitution, was tailor-made for Barack Hussein Obama and our Founders placed it in our Constitution for such a time as this," Brown said.
Brown cited his concerns over Obama's attitudes and behaviors, including:
When Obama said America is not a Christian nation.
When, in his book, Obama wrote of Muslims, "I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
When the White House insisted the name of Jesus be covered before Obama could speak at GeorgetownUniversity.
When in 2009 Obama said, "You might say that America is a Muslim nation."
When he treated the Queen of England with casual familiarity, but bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, where Muslims won't permit Christian worship under penalty of death.

Barack Obama did not so much get a win with the Nobel Peace Prize today as the U.S. Military and General Stanley McChrystal sustained a loss. The Prize itself will also be a loser along with all previous winners.
The award is a not so veiled attempt to make it psychologically impossible for Obama to now send 40 thousand more American troops to Afghanistan. To do so would be to spit in the face of his most adoring audience in his favorite venue, the vague and undefined world stage.
How else can you explain the prize being given to someone who has accomplished – in the words of the great international think tank Saturday Night Live: “nothing.” In fact, the studied consultants at SNL arrived at the conclusion that with regard to Afghanistan, things have “gotten worse.” It was the worst of the long litany of Obama failures to date according to SNL.
This Nobel award to Obama is as breathtakingly shallow as Miss America contestants’ obligatory “wish for world peace” or Joe Biden’s assessment that the stimulus is “working beyond our wildest dreams” statement. There is no there there.
One wonders if Obama himself, who has after all already written (well, he turned them in anyway) two memoirs on his life, would have had the audacity to give himself this award. Talk about the audacity of hope!
And all of this would be funny except that American lives and American security are what is at stake.
There is a further irony in offering a peace prize to a president whose principal preoccupation at the moment is when and how to expand the war in Afghanistan.
The spectacle of Mr Obama mounting the podium in Oslo to accept a prize that once went to Nelson Mandela, Aung San Suu Kyi and Mother Theresa would be all the more absurd if it follows a White House decision to send up to 40,000 more US troops to Afghanistan.
That is exactly the point of giving this award now to someone so clearly undeserving. The Nobel Committee is aware of the dynamic going on in this country vis-a-vis Obama and his lead General in the Afghan theatre, and as Binyon points out such preemptive awards are not new to Nobel:
Some have appeared to reward hope rather than achievement: the 1976 prize for the two peace campaigners in Northern Ireland, Betty Williams and Mairead Corrigan, was clearly intended to send a signal to the two battling communities in Ulster. (emphasis added).
It does not take an expert in world history – or even a Saturday Night Live writer – to see that this prize was a signal to Obama about Afghanistan. The Nobel committee is making a childish gesture by putting their hopes in Obama’s ability to talk any faction anywhere down off any ledge of reality without anyone getting hurt. They admit as much according to Binyon:
The committee said today that he had “captured the world’s attention”. It is certainly true that his energy and aspirations have dazzled many of his supporters. Sadly, it seems they have so bedazzled the Norwegians that they can no longer separate hopes from achievement. The achievements of all previous winners have been diminished.
Not being able to separate hopes from achievement, or shall we say hopes from reality, is the dangerous illusion liberals live under. To Nobel’s committee and many others, peace is simply the absence of war. Reality and world history teach us that peace exists only when freedom reigns. This is usually the result of the good guys fighting and winning a war against the bad guys.
There were no American troops in Afghanistan on September 11th, 2001. By the liberal definition, there was peace flowing through Afghanistan on September 11, 2001. And yet, what was going on there and what that part of the world was spreading elsewhere would hardly be considered “peace.” The problem is, freedom did not reign. And it does not yet reign there. Until it does, we are in danger.
And if General McChrystal does not get what he has requested, the lives of the very folks putting it on the line for freedom’s sake are in even greater danger. The Nobel Committee’s pathetic gesture today has literally endangered American lives in the near and distant future if they are successful in shaming Obama into not supporting the General’s plan.
And for that, the award should be forever discredited.

RALEIGH At first glance, news that another right-wing group was airing $10,000 worth of anti-Obama television ads in South Carolina next week didn't seem all that unusual. Groups opposing health care reform are popping up all over the place, many of them funded by the insurance industry or other wealthy interests trying to derail President Barack Obama's reform proposals.
These ads aren't just about health care. They accuse Obama of freeing terrorists, hiring communists and dignifying dictators, all as part of his socialist agenda. It's the kind of rhetoric heard this summer at town hall meetings and anti-government rallies.
The voices were strident, extreme and often accompanied by signs painted with crude racial caricatures or portrayals of Obama as Hitler. Some Republican elected officials stood with the rabid protesters, but many struggled to figure out how to benefit politically from the angry right without being too closely associated with its offensive images and messages.
Some party leaders bristled when asked about the worst of the rhetoric, blaming it on overzealous outsiders angry with the administration.
That's what is notable about the Wake Up America ads. The extremist rhetoric is there, but this time it is coming directly from Republican officeholders, not from a hard-to-connect front group or outsiders with no connection to the party establishment.
Wake Up America was created as a 527 advocacy organization. The papers filed with the IRS to establish the group list North Carolina Republican State Sen. Andrew Brock as the president and director. Its business address is Brock's home in Mocksville.
The initial filing isn't required to list the group's contributions or its expenses, so it is unclear if Brock is receiving financial compensation for serving as president. He lists his occupation as political consultant, though on his Statement of Economic Interest filed for the 2007-2008 General Assembly session, he listed only his legislative salary and his wife's pension as sources of income of more than $5,000.
Republican House member Bryan Holloway is another of the group's founders, along with businessman Will Head.
The Wake Up America Web site calls "Barack Hussein Obama" the "face of socialism" and that he is intent on destroying the Constitution. Brock says Obama is a "radical left-wing socialist with a hidden agenda that could destroy the America we know..."
Those aren't soundbites on Fox News from an anti-government tea party in Idaho. That's an elected state senator and the group he runs. In some ways, the extremist rhetoric from an officeholder in North Carolina is the next logical and troubling step.
During the presidential election last fall, two Republican members of the General Assembly, Rep. Jeff Barnhart and Sen. Fletcher Hartsell, were listed as two of the three board members of another 527, RightChange.com that ran commercials against Obama.
The other board member and primary funder of the group was Fred Eshelman, the CEO of Pharmaceutical Product Development, Inc. in Wilmington. Eshelman gave RightChange close to $3 million.
Hartsell and Barnhart are considered moderate Republicans, but their close association with the right-wing attack group didn't seem to cause much of a stir in the General Assembly this summer, though the activities of RightChange and the lawmakers' connections to it received surprisingly little press coverage from the North Carolina media last year.
Now Brock and Holloway have taken the next step, not just associating with a group that is attacking the president with overheated rhetoric, but leading it.
The rapid deterioration of the political discourse continues and is now merging with the policy debates in our legislative halls. The folks spewing the extreme rhetoric are not just the outsiders anymore. They are on the inside too.

Dear President Obama,
You say you love small business, where 90% of new jobs come from. The backbone of America. Have you ever ran one? Do you even know the definition of small business?
Did you know that not one penny is allocated for small businesses in all your stimulus spending? Worse yet, Cap and Trade Tax will stick small businesses with a huge tax increase, as the Bush tax cuts expire.
Your administration is harming small business as more keep closing their doors each day. Welcome to the welfare state of Barack Obama.
Most small business owners cannot even claim unemployment as they get paid through the great tax system's K1 plan. Besides they could not afford to pay into the unemployment 'fund' if they could.
Mr. President, small business owners need to pay their people first, then their vendors, and of course rent and utilities. Then they get what's left, which usually is less than minimum wage.
So with our economy in a spiraling downturn, unemployment raising rapidly to 9.8% (as of today), businesses closing, our homes are foreclosing, our cars are being repo'd, bankruptcy rates are climbing to record numbers, and bailouts are the norm.
We have a few questions for you Mr. President:
1. Why is the stock market rallying?
2. Why are you printing worthless money?
3. Why has the national debt tripled?
You Sir are saving Wall Street while shutting down Main Street. This is a disaster that will continue to get worse.
How does an out of business owner find a job in your society? Is this your plan to keep the masses under your control? A welfare state, but you claim to be pro-business. But only the ones you control, and now you want healthcare.

Amnesty is back, and with a vengeance. This was the dominant theme I heard at this week's annual talk-radio gabfest in Washington sponsored by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), the country's leading anti-amnesty organization. "As we gather here in the nation's capital, another illegal alien amnesty bill has been introduced in the Senate," FAIR President Dan Stein said. It is no surprise that, after passing health care "reform," President Obama plans to move on to his next big domestic initiative: granting citizenship to more than 12 million illegal immigrants. For decades, Beltway and business elites have championed a policy of open borders and unlimited Third World immigration. Amnesty is simply its logical culmination: the triumph of political and corporate interests over patriotism. America has endured a massive invasion of millions of illegal immigrants. The southern border is a bleeding sore. Hospitals are overwhelmed, forced to provide free medical care to illegals. School systems must absorb the unnecessary costs of educating the illegal immigrants' children. Welfare rolls are swelling with illegal immigrants taking advantage of public assistance. Nearly one-third of the federal prison population is composed of illegal immigrants. Mexican cartels import drugs, crime and human trafficking. Washington has lost control of the nation's borders -- and with it, our national sovereignty. Moreover, the waves of illegal immigration represent an onslaught on America's historic and cultural core. The great myth of our time, promoted by both the multicultural left and the neoconservative right, is that the United States is a creedal nation. They argue that the country was founded upon abstract ideas embodied in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and that it is united by its commitment to universal principles such as democracy and equality. This is a historical fraud. The Founding Fathers were neither democrats nor believers in egalitarianism. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were slaveholders. John Adams, Alexander Hamilton and James Madison deeply distrusted democracy. "Democracy ... wastes, exhausts, and murders itself," Adams wrote. "There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide." In other words, the Founding Fathers were not only republicans. They were nationalists who believed they had established a distinct and unique nation based on a common language, faith, heritage and culture. America is an outgrowth of Christianity and English civilization. Its roots are European. The previous waves of immigrants who came to its shores not only deliberately assimilated, but embraced a common national identity: They became Americans. This is not the case with the army of illegal immigrants. The combination of uncontrolled immigration with multiculturalism is a recipe for balkanization -- the fracturing of America along racial and ethnic lines. Already, many Hispanic radicals, including some in the advocacy group La Raza ("the race"), are calling for the annexation of the Southwest back into Mexico. They think amnesty will accelerate the process of reacquiring former Mexican territories. For them, demography is destiny. Large chunks of California, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Florida have become Spanish-speaking enclaves. They are part of the United States in name only. Immigrants are no longer required to learn English. The fastest-growing TV and radio stations are those broadcasting in Spanish. Everywhere one goes -- ATMs, restaurants, state motor vehicle departments -- Spanish is prevalent. Many urban schools in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York teach bilingualism. We are no longer one people who share the same language, culture, history, customs, heroes, literature and traditions. The bonds of national union are slowly being torn apart. Mr. Obama already has shown he is the most leftist president in U.S. history. Not only have his statist policies and massive budget deficits crippled the private sector. He is erecting a corporatist state -- the amalgamation of big business, big government and big labor -- that represents a clear break from capitalist individualism. Success in his drive for government-run health care would transform America into a European-style social democracy. This would permanently shift the political landscape to the left, fostering a culture of dependency and entitlement. Mr. Obama is an internationalist socialist. His ultimate goal is to erect a liberal ruling class: to forge a Democratic majority coalition -- one that would dominate for decades. Amnesty would put millions of illegal immigrants into the voting booths -- and into the welcoming arms of Democrats. Amnesty also would sound the death knell of traditional America. It would signify a cultural revolution, the establishment of a de facto bilingual, binational Tower of Babel. It would be Mr. Obama's most radical -- and destructive -- achievement. Jeffrey T. Obama named a US Attorney General who hails from a law firm that defends terrorists.
Obama cut military and defense spending, and just recently caved into Russia to remove our planned defensive missile system in Eastern Europe.
Less than 10% of Israelis believe that Obama is a friend of Israel, all this while Iran speaks of destroying the only free democracy in the Middle East openly.
Obama didn't even support the brave souls in Iran who demonstrated for freedom. Instead he caved to the radicals in Tehran. What is going on here?
Now Iran is shooting missile after missile with no response from the White House.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — A conservative North Carolina group said Friday it is spending $10,000 to air ads in South Carolina next week saying President Barack Obama is pushing socialist health care and freeing terrorists to Bermuda.
North Carolina state Sen. Andrew Brock said wakeupamerica.com has bought time for the 30-second ad in Columbia, Greenville and Hilton Head Island for two weeks starting Monday.
The Mocksville, N.C., Republican, said the ads are needed to back up Republican U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina, who shouted “You Lie!” at Obama as he pitched overhauling health care.
“President Obama’s deception,” the ad starts as images begin flashing on the screen. “With moveon.org and Acorn, he took over – naming communist advisers; massive government takeovers; huge tax increases; socialist healthcare; tripling our grandkids debt; freeing terrorists to Bermuda; dignifying dictators; cutting defense. Now we see the real Barack Obama.” The ad concludes with three images of Obama with the word “socialism” capitalized below.

The ad’s reference to terrorists freed to Bermuda is inaccurate, critics say. The men were detained in 2001 but American authorities concluded they were not enemy combatants and did not pose security threats and released them to Bermuda this year.

"America is the victim of the greatest deception in history because Barak Obama pretended to be mainstream and for change, but now we see he is a radical left-wing socialist who has a hidden agenda that could destroy the America we know as the shining city on the hill," said Andrew Brock, an organization founder and State Senator from North Carolina. "Huge government takeovers, bailouts, tax increases, proposing socialized healthcare, naming admitted communists to top White House economic jobs, freeing terrorists to Bermuda, cutting defense, dignifying Venezuelan and Iran's brutal dictators, the list goes on and Americans are terrified we have a Marxist on Pennsylvania Avenue," Brock concluded. This week, the Associated Press reported that for the next two years, the Social Security system will pay out more money than it takes in. The story contained the following bizarre formulation: “The deficits — $10 billion in 2010 and $9 billion in 2011 — won't affect payments to retirees because Social Security has accumulated surpluses from previous years totaling $2.5 trillion. But they will add to the overall federal deficit.” How can it be that Social Security has $2.5 trillion in reserves, but that a mere $19 billion shortfall will add to the federal deficit? Because the “surpluses” do not exist. The Trust Fund is empty and has been for years. There is no money in there; just IOU’s. That’s why the 2010-2011 shortfalls will add to the deficit – we don’t have the money. The very concept of a Social Security Trust Fund is not so much a myth as it is a lie. For decades, Congress has raided the Trust Fund to pay for other government programs and used accounting gimmicks to hide the true size of the deficit. So insatiable is Washington’s appetite to spend that the federal government has not only spent all the money it has, but all the money previous generations were thought to have saved, and now we’re working our way through the money future generations hope to earn. What our government has done is a crime. And yet, almost no one in Washington – in either party – seems interested in the giant iceberg we’re steaming toward… Not when there are deckchairs to rearrange! And now Congress is working its way through 2010 appropriations bills that will increase spending 10-20 percent over last year. Those bills will include thousands of willfully wasteful earmarks, spending billions of dollars we don’t have. And all of this is being done in a fiscal context that can only be described as terrifying. This year, Washington will spend twice as much as it takes in. The national debt is now as large as our entire economy, nearing $12 trillion borrowed from countries like China. And thus comes the Titanic comparison full circle. You see, when our leaders finally run us into that iceberg, they know they will have seats set aside for themselves in the lifeboats. It’s the rest of us, our parents and our children, who will find ourselves locked in steerage, forced by our ruling class to pay for their sins, and go down with the sinking ship. There’s still time to rescue the ship, but Washington is too busy fiddling with the deckchairs. To prevent catastrophe, the American people are going to have to take the wheel.

I haven't said anything the last couple of days about what is going on in Afghanistan. I've been waiting to see what the president was going to do about the recommendations he's received from his commanding General — Stanley McChrystal — who requested more troops and emphasized that they were seriously needed within the next year or the mission would be likely to fail.
We just had to have the Waxman-Markey climate bill immediately or Des Moines, Iowa, would be submerged in the Gulf of Mexico and Bangor, Maine, would burst into flames.
Ronald Reagan won the Cold War, in part by not compromising the "Star Wars" defense initiative — even though it didn't even exist, knowing it would strain the Soviet Union to the point of collapse trying to keep up. It was one of the biggest, boldest bluffs of the last century.
In a totally unrelated story: Several massive corporations announced an hour after the Russian fiasco that they would be meeting with Vladimir Putin about some lucrative new business opportunities — in Russia. What a coincidence.
So, President Obama had time for all that. But General McChrystal submitted his 66-page report on August 30, while the President was vacationing on a $20 million-estate on Martha's Vineyard.
Obviously, he couldn't decide anything then, but it's been nearly a month. We can't commit to doing what your own general deems necessary in Afghanistan? Whose side are we on?
We all know that war is hell. And when our sons and daughters are putting their lives on the line and human beings on both sides are dying. When a nation makes the decision that war is necessary, they have a moral obligation to do everything they can to end it as soon as possible, so that the suffering isn't protracted.
This may sound trite right now, but my dad taught me that it's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game that counts. War is not a game. A war cannot be won without horror; stop the politics and fight to win this thing, so that we can limit the horror and return home with honor.
Several years ago, I received a lot of heat for putting together a series of rallies across the country that I called, "Rallies for America." The media and the left said that they were pro-war rallies. They were pro-troop rallies and tens of thousands showed up to show their support. We banned politicians from those events, because they were not political and we promised that we would do everything in our power to avoid for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, the public reaction our troops experienced after Vietnam.
Well, I'm fulfilling that promise. President Obama, follow the advice of your commanders on the ground and fight to win this war or bring them home now.
And not only is our military denied the tools and resources they need to finish their mission and come home, but how does the CIA feel, as they put their lives on the line every day, and are called liars and threatened with investigation, prosecution and have their hands tied?
We won't investigate rampant corruption at ACORN, but we WILL investigate the CIA?
President Obama just held a mini-race summit at the White House, after accusing a highly respected police officer of acting stupidly — without even having all the facts, again, jumping to such a conclusion about an officer who puts his life on the line every day. It begs the question:
Whose side are we on?
We're cozying up to our enemies, while pushing away our allies. Whose side are we on?
So many things don't make sense — like finding out this week that ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis has members of the Venezuelan embassy staff in her rolodex. Members of the Congress came back from Cuba with open adoration for Communist dictator, Fidel Castro.
Nancy Pelosi met with Syria's Bashar Assad against the will of the sitting president at the time, George Bush.
In this crazy climate where there just seems to be no good or evil, no right or wrong anymore, we just can't help but wonder sometimes: Whose side are we on?
