Obama's next push is amnesty

Amnesty is back, and with a vengeance. This was the dominant theme I heard at this week's annual talk-radio gabfest in Washington sponsored by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), the country's leading anti-amnesty organization.

"As we gather here in the nation's capital, another illegal alien amnesty bill has been introduced in the Senate," FAIR President Dan Stein said.

It is no surprise that, after passing health care "reform," President Obama plans to move on to his next big domestic initiative: granting citizenship to more than 12 million illegal immigrants. For decades, Beltway and business elites have championed a policy of open borders and unlimited Third World immigration. Amnesty is simply its logical culmination: the triumph of political and corporate interests over patriotism.

America has endured a massive invasion of millions of illegal immigrants. The southern border is a bleeding sore. Hospitals are overwhelmed, forced to provide free medical care to illegals. School systems must absorb the unnecessary costs of educating the illegal immigrants' children. Welfare rolls are swelling with illegal immigrants taking advantage of public assistance. Nearly one-third of the federal prison population is composed of illegal immigrants. Mexican cartels import drugs, crime and human trafficking. Washington has lost control of the nation's borders -- and with it, our national sovereignty.

Moreover, the waves of illegal immigration represent an onslaught on America's historic and cultural core. The great myth of our time, promoted by both the multicultural left and the neoconservative right, is that the United States is a creedal nation. They argue that the country was founded upon abstract ideas embodied in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and that it is united by its commitment to universal principles such as democracy and equality. This is a historical fraud. The Founding Fathers were neither democrats nor believers in egalitarianism. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were slaveholders. John Adams, Alexander Hamilton and James Madison deeply distrusted democracy.

"Democracy ... wastes, exhausts, and murders itself," Adams wrote. "There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide."

In other words, the Founding Fathers were not only republicans. They were nationalists who believed they had established a distinct and unique nation based on a common language, faith, heritage and culture. America is an outgrowth of Christianity and English civilization. Its roots are European. The previous waves of immigrants who came to its shores not only deliberately assimilated, but embraced a common national identity: They became Americans.

This is not the case with the army of illegal immigrants. The combination of uncontrolled immigration with multiculturalism is a recipe for balkanization -- the fracturing of America along racial and ethnic lines.

Already, many Hispanic radicals, including some in the advocacy group La Raza ("the race"), are calling for the annexation of the Southwest back into Mexico. They think amnesty will accelerate the process of reacquiring former Mexican territories. For them, demography is destiny.

Large chunks of California, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Florida have become Spanish-speaking enclaves. They are part of the United States in name only. Immigrants are no longer required to learn English. The fastest-growing TV and radio stations are those broadcasting in Spanish. Everywhere one goes -- ATMs, restaurants, state motor vehicle departments -- Spanish is prevalent. Many urban schools in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York teach bilingualism. We are no longer one people who share the same language, culture, history, customs, heroes, literature and traditions. The bonds of national union are slowly being torn apart.

Mr. Obama already has shown he is the most leftist president in U.S. history. Not only have his statist policies and massive budget deficits crippled the private sector. He is erecting a corporatist state -- the amalgamation of big business, big government and big labor -- that represents a clear break from capitalist individualism.

Success in his drive for government-run health care would transform America into a European-style social democracy. This would permanently shift the political landscape to the left, fostering a culture of dependency and entitlement.

Mr. Obama is an internationalist socialist. His ultimate goal is to erect a liberal ruling class: to forge a Democratic majority coalition -- one that would dominate for decades. Amnesty would put millions of illegal immigrants into the voting booths -- and into the welcoming arms of Democrats.

Amnesty also would sound the death knell of traditional America. It would signify a cultural revolution, the establishment of a de facto bilingual, binational Tower of Babel. It would be Mr. Obama's most radical -- and destructive -- achievement.

President Obama is wanting to investigate our brave defenders at the CIA (in charge of protecting our lives) instead of terrorists.

Obama named a US Attorney General who hails from a law firm that defends terrorists.

Obama cut military and defense spending, and just recently caved into Russia to remove our planned defensive missile system in Eastern Europe.

Less than 10% of Israelis believe that Obama is a friend of Israel, all this while Iran speaks of destroying the only free democracy in the Middle East openly.

Obama didn't even support the brave souls in Iran who demonstrated for freedom. Instead he caved to the radicals in Tehran. What is going on here?

Now Iran is shooting missile after missile with no response from the White House.

NC group buying anti-Obama ads in South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. — A conservative North Carolina group said Friday it is spending $10,000 to air ads in South Carolina next week saying President Barack Obama is pushing socialist health care and freeing terrorists to Bermuda.

North Carolina state Sen. Andrew Brock said wakeupamerica.com has bought time for the 30-second ad in Columbia, Greenville and Hilton Head Island for two weeks starting Monday.

The Mocksville, N.C., Republican, said the ads are needed to back up Republican U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina, who shouted “You Lie!” at Obama as he pitched overhauling health care.

“President Obama’s deception,” the ad starts as images begin flashing on the screen. “With moveon.org and Acorn, he took over – naming communist advisers; massive government takeovers; huge tax increases; socialist healthcare; tripling our grandkids debt; freeing terrorists to Bermuda; dignifying dictators; cutting defense. Now we see the real Barack Obama.” The ad concludes with three images of Obama with the word “socialism” capitalized below.

The Democratic National Committee and state Democratic Party said they had no comment on the ad.

The ad’s reference to terrorists freed to Bermuda is inaccurate, critics say. The men were detained in 2001 but American authorities concluded they were not enemy combatants and did not pose security threats and released them to Bermuda this year.

Obama Deception TV Ad

(Raleigh, NC) -- Last week Associated Press wrote about a new national 527 conservative group, WakeUpAmerica.com, that is being formed to combat MoveOn.org through TV ads and technology networking that are "designed to influence state and local politics nationwide." (AP, 9/21/09)

Today the group unveiled a new national TV commercial exposing President Barak Obama as "the very face of Socialism." The commercial begins airing in Congressman Joe Wilson's district in South Carolina Monday, as well as in North Carolina -- and in the coming days Des Moines, Iowa and Manchester, New Hampshire.

"America is the victim of the greatest deception in history because Barak Obama pretended to be mainstream and for change, but now we see he is a radical left-wing socialist who has a hidden agenda that could destroy the America we know as the shining city on the hill," said Andrew Brock, an organization founder and State Senator from North Carolina.

"Huge government takeovers, bailouts, tax increases, proposing socialized healthcare, naming admitted communists to top White House economic jobs, freeing terrorists to Bermuda, cutting defense, dignifying Venezuelan and Iran's brutal dictators, the list goes on and Americans are terrified we have a Marxist on Pennsylvania Avenue," Brock concluded.

"Citizens need to understand who is lying, and who is exposing the truth. It's not Joe Wilson, it's Socialist Barak Obama," Brock continued.

WakeUpAmerica.com, a 527 organization, outlines it's strategy as to become the conservative answer to MoveOn.org by using extensive social and technology networking methods in addition to building a grassroots team of "Wakers" across America.

"Like MoveOn.org, we will use TV ads to spread the truth to America. Unlike MoveOn.org, our values are to protect liberty, freedom and opportunity -- not to destroy them," said board member Will Head.

"It's truly shocking how few citizens know about the corrupt socialist onslaught against our nation. We cannot rely on the liberal media to get our message out, that's why we will run TV ads and then build grassroots teams of supporters in every state, starting in the Carolinas and moving into Iowa and New Hampshire.

"The American people deserve to hear the truth and that is our mission," Head concluded.

Sen. Jim DeMint: Washington Politicians' Most Titanic Lie

If you watch C-Span for a while, you’re sure to hear a politician or pundit criticizing some idea by comparing it to “rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.” It’s a vivid illustration of the short-sightedness and futility of so much of what Washington does superficially to improve failed programs.

In Washington today, however, we are witnessing an unprecedented extension of the Titanic analogy: Both parties and both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue are focused on rearranging our deck chairs while there is still time to steer around the iceberg, if only someone would grab the wheel.

This week, the Associated Press reported that for the next two years, the Social Security system will pay out more money than it takes in. The story contained the following bizarre formulation:

“The deficits — $10 billion in 2010 and $9 billion in 2011 — won't affect payments to retirees because Social Security has accumulated surpluses from previous years totaling $2.5 trillion. But they will add to the overall federal deficit.”

How can it be that Social Security has $2.5 trillion in reserves, but that a mere $19 billion shortfall will add to the federal deficit? Because the “surpluses” do not exist. The Trust Fund is empty and has been for years. There is no money in there; just IOU’s. That’s why the 2010-2011 shortfalls will add to the deficit – we don’t have the money.

The very concept of a Social Security Trust Fund is not so much a myth as it is a lie. For decades, Congress has raided the Trust Fund to pay for other government programs and used accounting gimmicks to hide the true size of the deficit.

Even at the end of the Clinton Administration, when the federal government was supposedly running a surplus, the national debt went up every single year. The surpluses were as imaginary as the Trust Funds.

So insatiable is Washington’s appetite to spend that the federal government has not only spent all the money it has, but all the money previous generations were thought to have saved, and now we’re working our way through the money future generations hope to earn.

What our government has done is a crime. And yet, almost no one in Washington – in either party – seems interested in the giant iceberg we’re steaming toward… Not when there are deckchairs to rearrange!

This year alone, the Senate has passed a $787 billion stimulus, a $350 billion Wall Street bailout extension, a $400 billion, earmark-infested omnibus spending bill, a $109 billion loan to the International Monetary Fund, $6 billion to federalize charities and pay volunteers, $3 billion for cash for clunkers, $400 million in corporate welfare to help tourism corporations advertise overseas, and a $4 billion bailout of the Postal Service.

And now Congress is working its way through 2010 appropriations bills that will increase spending 10-20 percent over last year. Those bills will include thousands of willfully wasteful earmarks, spending billions of dollars we don’t have.

And all of this is being done in a fiscal context that can only be described as terrifying. This year, Washington will spend twice as much as it takes in. The national debt is now as large as our entire economy, nearing $12 trillion borrowed from countries like China.

The long-term projected shortfalls for Social Security and Medicare alone are more than $100 trillion. Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn has warned that every child born in America today is burdened with a $400,000 bill to pay for federal programs in the coming decades.

It is in this climate – incredibly, maddeningly – that Congress and the president are trying to pass a health care takeover plan that will cost an additional trillion dollars in the near term, and orders of magnitude more in the long run.

And all along, the architects of this fiscal catastrophe are called “progressive” and compassionate, while skeptical taxpayers at tea parties and town halls are derided as crazy.

And thus comes the Titanic comparison full circle. You see, when our leaders finally run us into that iceberg, they know they will have seats set aside for themselves in the lifeboats. It’s the rest of us, our parents and our children, who will find ourselves locked in steerage, forced by our ruling class to pay for their sins, and go down with the sinking ship.

There’s still time to rescue the ship, but Washington is too busy fiddling with the deckchairs. To prevent catastrophe, the American people are going to have to take the wheel.

Stop Playing Politics; Fight to Win in Afghanistan

I haven't said anything the last couple of days about what is going on in Afghanistan. I've been waiting to see what the president was going to do about the recommendations he's received from his commanding General — Stanley McChrystal — who requested more troops and emphasized that they were seriously needed within the next year or the mission would be likely to fail.

Well, it seems the president has been too busy lately to get to that report. After all, he had to sit down this past weekend with ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, Univision and David Letterman.

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: I think mathematically the White Sox can still get in the playoffs.

OBAMA: The Yankees are also doing pretty well.

OBAMA: I have no interest in increasing the size of government.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS, ABC NEWS: How about the funding for ACORN?

OBAMA: Frankly it's not something I've been following closely. I didn't even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money.

OBAMA: Foreign leaders who are heads of center-right governments say to me, I don't understand why people call you socialist.

OBAMA: There's an awful lot of misinformation out that that gets around that we have to fight through and that's why I'm on the David Letterman show.

He had to pander to the dictators who hate us at the United Nations.

OBAMA: The United States stands ready to begin a new chapter of international cooperation, one that recognizes the rights and responsibilities of all nations.

Oh, and he had to blather about the coming climate apocalypse at the Climate Change Summit. After all, it was only the 4th coolest summer in New York City history. The last time it was this mild in New York City was the summer of 1927. And you know what that means? Global warming was resting up this year, to hit us with 700 degree temperatures next year.

So, President Obama just can't decide whether to follow the advice of the general he appointed to run the war. Have you noticed that everything else on his agenda has to be done.... now?

He had to race out and apologize to Europe and Islam right after taking office:

OBAMA: In America, there's a failure to appreciate Europe's leading role in the world. Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.

We just had to have the Waxman-Markey climate bill immediately or Des Moines, Iowa, would be submerged in the Gulf of Mexico and Bangor, Maine, would burst into flames.

And if we didn't get the health care reform passed by yesterday, billions would die and the few left alive would be bankrupt and homeless if they ever caught a cold.

He's taken the time to capitulate to Russia on a Polish missile defense shield and got nothing in return.

Ronald Reagan won the Cold War, in part by not compromising the "Star Wars" defense initiative — even though it didn't even exist, knowing it would strain the Soviet Union to the point of collapse trying to keep up. It was one of the biggest, boldest bluffs of the last century.

But Obama caved in while holding all the cards. Why?

In a totally unrelated story: Several massive corporations announced an hour after the Russian fiasco that they would be meeting with Vladimir Putin about some lucrative new business opportunities — in Russia. What a coincidence.

So, President Obama had time for all that. But General McChrystal submitted his 66-page report on August 30, while the President was vacationing on a $20 million-estate on Martha's Vineyard.

Obviously, he couldn't decide anything then, but it's been nearly a month. We can't commit to doing what your own general deems necessary in Afghanistan? Whose side are we on?

If we're not going to fight this war to win, Mr. President, please bring the troops home.

Yes, I supported the war — both of them — when I believed our cause was just and that we would shock and awe our enemies; win and get out.

We all know that war is hell. And when our sons and daughters are putting their lives on the line and human beings on both sides are dying. When a nation makes the decision that war is necessary, they have a moral obligation to do everything they can to end it as soon as possible, so that the suffering isn't protracted.

This may sound trite right now, but my dad taught me that it's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game that counts. War is not a game. A war cannot be won without horror; stop the politics and fight to win this thing, so that we can limit the horror and return home with honor.

Several years ago, I received a lot of heat for putting together a series of rallies across the country that I called, "Rallies for America." The media and the left said that they were pro-war rallies. They were pro-troop rallies and tens of thousands showed up to show their support. We banned politicians from those events, because they were not political and we promised that we would do everything in our power to avoid for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, the public reaction our troops experienced after Vietnam.

Well, I'm fulfilling that promise. President Obama, follow the advice of your commanders on the ground and fight to win this war or bring them home now.

I've said several times that I find myself becoming more and more libertarian all the time; it's because of our politicians. They can't seem to do the right thing. We have troops all over the world — putting their lives on the line and their family lives on hold. In return, they're treated like garbage in the countries they protect. Let South Korea, Japan and Germany fund their own security.

And not only is our military denied the tools and resources they need to finish their mission and come home, but how does the CIA feel, as they put their lives on the line every day, and are called liars and threatened with investigation, prosecution and have their hands tied?

All of my sources on Capitol Hill have told me that Congress' main question to the CIA in the aftermath of 9/11 was: "Are you sure you're doing enough to get information?" Now, they're vilified, threatened and cut off at the knees.

We won't investigate rampant corruption at ACORN, but we WILL investigate the CIA?

Whose side are we on?

President Obama just held a mini-race summit at the White House, after accusing a highly respected police officer of acting stupidly — without even having all the facts, again, jumping to such a conclusion about an officer who puts his life on the line every day. It begs the question:
Whose side are we on?

We're cozying up to our enemies, while pushing away our allies. Whose side are we on?

We would just like some answers to these reasonable questions, because our foreign policy doesn't make any sense to us.

So many things don't make sense — like finding out this week that ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis has members of the Venezuelan embassy staff in her rolodex. Members of the Congress came back from Cuba with open adoration for Communist dictator, Fidel Castro.

REP. BARBARA LEE, D-CALIF.: Former President Castro was very engaging, very energetic.

CONGRESSWOMAN LAURA RICHARDSON, D-CALIF.: With Fidel, he listened, he said the exact same words that President Obama has said.

Nancy Pelosi met with Syria's Bashar Assad against the will of the sitting president at the time, George Bush.

In this crazy climate where there just seems to be no good or evil, no right or wrong anymore, we just can't help but wonder sometimes: Whose side are we on?
